Black Cyber Practitioners

We want to highlight your talent and rebuff the notion that Black people are not working in cyber and tear down the barriers that limit increase entry into the field for this community and others. The Black community is rich with talent and we want to showcase that in addition to fighting the systemic racism faced by Black practitioners.

How does it work?

As a Black Cyber Practitioner (BCP), you will be partnered with a Cyber Ally (Ally) who will share your professional journey, expertise, and engage in dialogue with you on their social media, Twitter and/or LinkedIn. You will need to create content in advance to provide your partner but we also encourage creative engagement otherwise. Some of the best parts of #ShareTheMicInCyber were born of the creative collaboration between partners.

You will be eligible for the #ShareTheMicInCyber scholarship, offered in partnership with WISP, #ShareTheMicInCyber events, and be the first to hear about the other #ShareTheMicInCyber collaborations and opportunities like CyberBase, offered in partnership with RStreet.

Additionally you will join the #ShareTheMicInCyber community of past and present participants to expand your network and keep the collaboration going. We encourage you participate as many times as you’d like!

What People Are Saying

“The #SharetheMicinCyber campaign provided the benefit of access. I was inundated with LinkedIn requests and direct messages, from other CISOs, CEOs, and VC partners. By the end of the day, I'd received an invite to join a prominent Board as an Advisor. Like, I'm sitting on the same Board as the CISOs of Chipotle, Yum Brands, Tik Tok, Rockwell Automation--mega-companies. I like to think [#SharetheMicinCyber] campaign was also an opportunity for Allies and Accomplices who have been trying to figure out ways to bridge the gap. Camille is an amazing partner who took her role as an ally to like, the next level. She used her privilege, and her access, in a way I would have never have dreamed possible. #SharetheMicinCyber did that.”

“It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”

#InclusiveByDesign

In celebration of Juneteeth 2021, we asked the #ShareTheMicInCyber community to create t-shirt designs or logos that reflect the #InclusiveByDesign community that is #ShareTheMicInCyber. We are all working towards an #InclusiveByDesign cyber industry.

Congratulations to Elan (@DFIRDiva) on winning the competition with this design. She is rocking one but we also encourage you to consider buying your own #ShareTheMicInCyber gear featuring our logo and the designs from the community.
